Happy Endings Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the Happy Endings Giveaway Hop! What is it that makes us westerners insist upon happy endings? Don’t get me wrong — I’m all for ’em — but so many Asian cultures produce books with terrible endings; the more heartbreakingly ironic the ending, the better the story. Not only do I want a happy ending, sometimes I’m aggravated when there’s too much manufactured conflict. I was feeling this way when I wrote Safeword: Matte, and as a result we get to see two people coming together and finding their own path without a lot of drama thrown in from all directions. I’ll give away one copy of Safeword: Matte on Sunday, January 27th. There are three ways to enter — do all three and you’ll be entered three times, or do one and you’re entered once: Follow me on Facebook and let me know about it (email, comment, or FB message) Follow me on Twitter and let me know about it (email, comment, or Twitter me) Comment below. If you’re already following me on Facebook or Twitter let me know who you are, and I’ll count it. To read a blurb and excerpt, click the book cover and you’ll be taken to the book’s page. Bondage Awards — Runner Up

Color me shocked; I’m apparently the runner up in the 2012 Bondage Awards in the Bondage Writer category. Thank you to everyone who voted, and congrats to the winner, Kallypso Masters — couldn’t have gone to a nicer lady.

Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews gives Five Stars and a True Gem award to Safeword: Quinacridone

Kitty Angel at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews gave Safeword: Quinacridone Five Stars, and a True Gem Award, and said: Some things are disturbing to this very vanilla person but, the way it was written was phenomenal! This was BDSM to the extreme -– not just whips, chains, hand-cuffs, floggers -– a total different BDSM that shows a true masochist and a true sadist at it’s best. Will I read more of Candace Blevins? Most definitely. I absolutely enjoy her characters. They are all totally different and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Safeword: Quinacridone gets 4.5 out of 5 kinks from KinkyBookReviews.com!

Reviews: Debbie at Kinky Book Reviews gave it 4.5 out of 5 kinks and said: I fell in love with the hero from the start. I was really in the moment at all times with this story and felt like I was fighting for this relationship right along with the characters. The scenes literally jumped off the page, sometimes making me want to run into Travis’s arms…sometimes away! Overall, this was an excellent and intense read. I feel that every book Ms. Blevins writes is better than the last and this was her best so far. I look forward to the next journey she takes us on. I also fear it a bit. _____________ You can see the blurb and one excerpt here, and another excerpt here. Safeword: Quinacridone is available at Amazon.

Naughty New Years Blog Hop

Welcome to the Naughty New Years Blog Hop! The magic cookie bars, chocolate chip cookies, and cheesecake are finally gone; and it’s time for me to eat right again. Once Nutcracker season was over — with lots and lots of exercise — I’ve only managed to work out twice in *looks at the calendar* three weeks. Uggg. I created a workout schedule and posted it on the back of the bathroom door, and asked my wonderful husband to be sure I stick to it for at least three months, as once I get back on a schedule it won’t be hard to keep to it. For those of you who know about our lifestyle, the consequences won’t be pretty if I miss a day and he doesn’t think I have an excellent reason for doing so. This most certainly falls into the be-careful-what-you-ask-for category. I also have a few writing oriented items on a checklist. Almost every beta reader for Safeword: Quinacridone wanted to know more about Papa Bear. Oddly enough, as I wrote the book I knew what his evening would be like when he left the art gallery, and I’ve decided to attempt a short story. So far I’ve proven incapable of writing anything short — they all end up novellas, or sometimes novels. However, if I keep the narrative to twelve hours, surely I can keep it below 10,000 words? We’ll see.    Once I’ve finished Papa Bear’s story I’ll finally begin the follow-up to Safeword: Matte. This book is likely going to be really long, as my outline is eleven pages. Do you have any New Year Resolutions? Let’s get to the good stuff: Today I’ll be giving away your choice of either of the Davenport books. There are three ways to enter for the prize […]

Release Day — Safeword: Quinacridone

Safeword: Quinacridone is available on Safeword: Quinacridone is available at Amazon as a Kindle Select, meaning if you’re a Prime member, you can borrow it for free. Here’s the blurb and an excerpt. What happens when an introverted artist who only likes sex when it’s a one-night stand meets a computer-geek-extraordinaire with his own sexy secrets? Objectification, romance, pain, adoration, lots of kinky toys, and oodles and oodles of wonderfully imaginative sex. Join Cara and Travis on their journey to mesh their distinctive sexual tastes into a loving relationship with blow-your-mind kink.    Ob·jec·ti·fi·ca·tion: Treating a person as an object for use, with no regard for a person’s personality or sentience. Regarding someone as a commodity; considering them merely an instrument towards one’s sexual pleasure.  Examples of OBJECTIFICATION: A woman is on her back at the edge of a tall bed with hands and feet bound together and restrained above her head. A curtain drapes from a canopy above and puddles on the backs of her thighs. The man about to penetrate her sees only female genitals available for use. A woman is dressed in a full latex blow-up doll costume with durable latex ‘pockets’ stuffed into her orifices. She is bound into a position giving easy access to all three holes at a party. Her face is completely covered excepting nose and mouth. The men do not know who is in the costume. Safeword: Quinacridone is a stand-alone book. You do not need to have read the previous books in this series. Warning: This title contains graphic language, consensual BDSM, extreme objectification, bondage, watersports (one scene), chemical play, fisting, temporary body modification with saline injections (one scene), and the use of toys including clamps, canes, plugs, paddles, whips, floggers, and zip-ties.   Excerpt: “Do you remember when I told […]

Christmas Wishes Blog Hop

Welcome to Christmas Wishes Blog Hop! I thought I’d scheduled the post, but it didn’t publish. I should’ve known better than to sign up for a hop during Nutcracker season! Ah well, better late than never? I’ll give away the winners choice of an ebook copy of either Safeword: Davenport or Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon on Thursday, December 13th. There are three ways to enter for the Davenport giveaway. Do all three and you’ll be entered three times, or do one and you’re entered once: Follow me on Facebook and let me know about it (email, comment, or FB message) Follow me on Twitter and let me know about it (email, comment, or Twitter me) Comment below. If you’re already following on Facebook or Twitter let me know who you are, and I’ll count it. These aren’t beginner BDSM books. Everything is consensual, but it’s real pain, and about as close as one can get to total surrender while sustaining a career. If you’re only interested in a little slap and tickle, these might be a bit much. Here’s the blurb for Safeword: Davenport Dana has never submitted to anyone but her husband — he trained her, taught her to submit. He’s been dead a year and a half though, and she’s beginning to consider the possibility of dating again. She sticks to vanilla at first, but quickly realizes she’s going to need more. As she’s considering the idea of finding someone who would enjoy hurting her without requiring her submission, her life is complicated by a Dom who pushes all of her buttons. Safeword: Davenport is the first half of Dana’s story, it’s the personal part of her journey, and has a Happy for Now ending. Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon tells the rest of her story and gives us […]

Cover Reveal — Safeword: Quinacridone

I am uber-excited about sharing Travis and Cara’s story. I don’t have a release date yet, or an official blurb, but I have a cover!!! Travis is a computer geek, Cara’s an artist. The couple explore objectification, which may not sound too extreme at first glance, but I’ve seen couples take it much farther than I’d want to go. These two keep it mostly sane, but the temptation is there, to see how far they can travel down the rabbit hole. If you’ve read my earlier books, you’ll note two major differences in this one. My previous works dealt with experienced players, but Cara will learn about world of BDSM from Travis. More substantially, Cara is not a submissive, and there’s very little D/s — only what’s needed in a scene to integrate the objectification scenarios Travis builds. Here’s the warning you’ll eventually see below the blurb. If watersports are a major squick for you, don’t let it scare you too bad, as it’s only in one scene, and is addressed as more curiosity than kink. Warning: This title contains graphic language, consensual BDSM, extreme objectification, bondage, watersports, chemical play, fisting, temporary body modification with saline injections, and the use of toys including clamps, canes, plugs, paddles, whips, floggers, and zip-ties. In a nutshell, there’s a decent amount of S&M — more than most books, but not to the levels in my previous works. We see very little D/s between our couple, though we see a good bit from secondary characters. I’ll repost this short teaser excerpt, as I think it gives a good introduction to Travis and Cara. “Do you remember when I told you to say yellow if you needed me to realize you couldn’t breathe, or wanted me to understand something wasn’t working for you?” She looked […]
