Sizzling Books of Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sizzling Books of Summer Blog Hop! The theme today is a mixed drink that will work well with the book we choose, and for Safeword: Matte, I’m thinking Lynchburg Lemonade. I mean, the story takes place in Tennessee, right? Contrary to what one would think, Lynchburg Lemonade has no actual lemonade. It consists of: 1 part Jack Daniel’s® Black Label whiskey 1 part sweet and sour mix 1 part triple sec 3 parts Sprite The official Jack Daniels web site calls for “4 parts lemon lime soda”, but I like mine a little stronger, and I’m betting Sam and Ethan do, too. Now, onto the free stuff: I’ll be giving away a copy of Safeword: Matte on Wednesday evening, August 22nd. There are three ways to enter. Do all three and you’ll be entered three times, or do one and you’re entered once: Follow me on Facebook and let me know about it (email, comment, or FB message) Follow me on Twitter and let me know about it (email, comment, or Twitter me) Comment below. If you’re already following me on Facebook or Twitter let me know who you are, and I’ll count it. Here’s the blurb for Safeword: Matte Matte, pronounced mah-tay, is the word used in some forms of martial arts to stop a fight. It’s the Japanese word for stop or wait. Sam (short for Samantha) has made a hobby out of learning the various fighting disciplines, but she also happens to be a sexual submissive. What better safeword than matte? Sam wants to find someone to submit to who she can’t beat in a fight. She’s tried to make it work with men from the scene who know nothing about fighting, but it doesn’t feel real to her – she needs someone who […]

Hot Summer Heroes Blog Hop

Welcome to the Hot Summer Heroes Blog Hop! What makes a hero? Bravery? A desire to do the right thing? The ability to pick up one’s life when it crumbles and find a way to not only keep going, but to eventually come out on top again? My biggest “cover hero” has got to be Ethan from Safeword: Matte. I mean, just look at him! At six foot five inches tall, and weighing in at two hundred and seventy one pounds, he’s bigger than life in so many ways. He looks scary, but he’s a nice guy. Even if he is a sadist 😉 And who do we choose as hero from the two Davenport books? I think in some ways it may be Brent, who isn’t a romantic interest for Dana at all, but a very good friend. All three of the men in these two books probably qualify for hero status in some way or other, though. Now, onto the free stuff: I’ll be giving away a copy of your choice of Safeword: Matte, Safeword: Davenport, or Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon on Sunday evening, August 19th. First, a warning, though. These are not “beginner” BDSM books. Everything is consensual, but it’s real pain, and — in the two Davenport books — as close as one can get to total surrender while sustaining a career. If […]

Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon gets 5 Stars at Manic Readers

AlexJouJou gave Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon five stars at Manic Readers. She said: This is an author who knows BDSM, there is no glitter kink or pretty play here. This is need, raw and emotional. …Ms. Blevin’s novels are getting increasingly complex, not with plot necessarily but with characters. …not fluffy growth; it is painful, hard earned, and incremental. There is no one who does the dialogue and communication between BDSM partners better than Ms. Blevins. She nails it every time and this is perhaps her best to date. The BDSM play is unique, arousing, and unapologetic. If you’re looking for a thoughtful review with no major spoilers, this is a great one. She hits the high points of the major conflicts without giving anything away. Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon is available at:

A Review and Interview

Erzabet at Erzabet’s Enchantments gave Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon a 5 of 5 and said: …I have never read a book that gutted me like this one. Ms. Blevins reaches into the darkest corners of your soul and scoops out your heart with the roller coaster ride within these pages. The story is visceral and full of emotional turmoil. The hard core BDSM scenes were heavier than I was used to, but exploring new things is part of what keeps me reading. …This book had me in places I have never been…The range of emotions that Ms. Blevins reaches through her scenes is intense enough to have me putting down the book so I can breathe and snatching it back up again to find out what happens on the next page. Dana is a character you can identify with. I felt her pain, joy, love and all of the other emotions as she experienced. You simply have to read it. It is a journey of discovery that explores power exchanges and the dynamics of trust. Amazing. There is also an interview, and she asked me a few things other’s haven’t asked.

An Interview, Exclusive Excerpt, and Giveaway

I’m being interviewed at Bonnie Bliss’ Sultry Storyteller blog today, where I discuss a little of what brought the two Davenport books into being. There’s also a hot snippet showing some electrical play, and a chance to win one ebook copy of either Safeword: Davenport or Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon. You can still sign up to win a copy at the BDSM Blog hop, also.

Two reviews and an Interview

Kitty at Guilty Pleasures gave Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon a 5 of 5 and a Purest Delight Award! She said: …learning to trust your partner to be who and what you need, to give yourself completely to a love that will bring you to new heights, is the true story behind this book. The true love, the true trust and the true lust is what brings these four people together to live a long and happy life. And Shari at Delighted Reader gave Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon an “A”, and said: As I stutter in to write this review, I am worn out and need aftercare. Aftercare from a very intense story of love, pain, dealing with loss, and finding out you can love again. Oh and there was a lot of BDSM in this book that had me cringing but also amazed at the strength and depth to these characters. …Everything in this book goes beyond everything you have read in her earlier books. She shocked me, had me laughing, crying and wanting to know more about certain aspects of the M/s lifestyle. Shari also interviewed me, click here to read it.

Review from Kinky Book Reviews — 5 of 5 Kinks and a Smokin’ Hot Read

Riane at Kinky Book Reviews gave Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon 5 of 5 Kinks and a Smokin’ Hot Read! She said: I loved this book. I cried, again. I thought all the crying had been handled in the first book, but I was wrong. There were some hard scenes, not because the story lacked anything, but because wow, Candace Blevins has an sadistic streak that is amazingly wonderful. She pointed out that you really need to read Safeword: Davenport before reading this one, which is absolutely true.
