Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews names Safeword: Rainbow a Purest Delight

Kitty Angel at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews gave the new edition of Safeword: Rainbow 4½ stars and rated it a Purest Delight. She had lots of nice things to say, here are a few: The extended version of Rainbow had me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see how they would work out their problems with a TPE and how they would manage if they were to compromise. ….Candace draws you into her story and doesn’t let go. It was very hard to put the book down and walk away to do anything besides read it. Ms. Blevins’ BDSM scenes were so well written that you felt yourself being drawn into the scene. I love the way Candace Blevins writes, incorporates the real world into the BDSM world and brings an HEA even in situations that may seem hopeless. Night Owl Reviews — Top Pick!

VRainey at Night Owl reviewed Safeword: Rainbow and named it a Top Pick, as well as giving it 4½ Stars! Here are a few of the things she said: The chemistry between Tyler and Vivian is blistering hot. The sex scenes were scorching hot. While I am not a masochist, the extreme sex scenes did not seem over the top or unrealistic. I loved that when it was too much Vivian was willing to say her safe word. This book is well written. The main and secondary characters were realistic. I love this series and can’t wait to read more in this series. Read her review to find out what else she liked — and didn’t like.

5 Hearts from Sizzling Hot Books

Robin at Sizzling Hot Books gave the new edition of Safeword: Rainbow a Five Heart review, and said: Safeword: Rainbow is very well-written; the writing flows naturally and I couldn’t put the book down. The hero and heroine are fascinating characters, multi-dimensional and people I would be interested in meeting. The sex scenes are so full of description that I can close my eyes and easily picture everything. She also warns: Safeword: Rainbow is hardcore BDSM so if you’re looking for some kinky, sensual play and light BDSM then you will most likely not be comfortable reading this book. Release Day – Safeword: Rainbow, the extended edition

I’m excited about this new edition of my first published work. I’ve learned a lot since I originally wrote it, and I believe the writing is tighter, the emotions are more intense, and the descriptions are fewer and farther between. The first rating has hit Goodreads, and it’s  a five star, so I hope this means the readers agree. You’ll find buy links for most of the major retailers below the blurb. Tyler and Viv have found each other again after a three day fling three years ago. Ideally suited for each other, they try to make a relationship work. However, they soon realize Tyler was expecting a 24/7 total power exchange and Vivian will never be a full-time submissive. As they try to find a compromise, Viv must deal with what a Total Power Exchange means, even if it’s only a part time power exchange, and Tyler must decide if he can live with a sometimes-Master and sometimes-boyfriend relationship. Will they find their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? This title was published in 2010 with less than half of the current content. The story has been considerably rewritten and contains a great deal of new material for your reading enjoyment. I think it’s a far better story now, but if you read the original, you can be the judge! ————————————————————- Buy it at: Release Date: November 1, 2013 Read an excerpt at candaceblevins.com/safeword-rainbow/

A vastly edited and updated Safeword: Rainbow

As our society debates how to handle our aging population, many of us deal with it on a personal level. My parents are rapidly approaching seventy, and while they’re in great shape and can probably go head to head with most forty year olds, there are still issues. I was working on the sequel to Safeword: Matte when my mom took a nasty spill. She walks a couple of miles a day, plus works in her yard six or eight hours a day, no matter how hot it may be. She’s not your typical old lady, but she apparently gets injured more easily, and takes longer to heal. Since she refused to allow a stranger into her home when she wasn’t at her best, my dad and I had to give her round-the-clock-care — head injuries are especially difficult, because sometimes she’d wake up and not know where she was. I took a week off  work, but when I returned to my day job I went to their house after work, and stayed until around midnight so my dad could get six hours of uninterrupted sleep. Once we were beyond the first couple of weeks, my husband and kids met me there on the days my mom was up to it, so I could see my family. My wonderful husband usually showed up with dinner already cooked, so all we had to do was sit down and eat.  I’m convinced having her grandkids around gave my mom incentive to get better, faster. I had my laptop and — on the days my family didn’t come, or later in the evening after they’d gone home — at first I could write when mom was sleeping. However, sometime during the second or third week the clicking of the keys was too much […]

Reduced Price on both Safeword books

Both Safeword: Rainbow and  Safeword: Storm Clouds are now $3.99 at Amazon and Bookstrand. As the publishers figure out the new realities of ebooks versus paper books, I don’t think anyone knows what the pricing models should look like. My publisher makes all pricing decisions, and at this point I’m trusting them to price things where they should be. I’m happy to see my books priced a little lower, if that will put them in the hands of more people.

Safeword: Rainbow is reviewed by The Forbidden Bookshelf

The Forbidden Bookshelf reviewed Safeword Rainbow.  The heat level and the book review were both a 4 out of 5.  Here are a few highlights from the review: Despite their differing ideas, the chemistry between Tyler and Vivian was amazing. … I love reading books like Safeword: Rainbow that push the boundaries of my comfort zone. It was a well-written and fascinating story, definitely a page-turner. Several people have had trouble with one of the final scenes of the book. My intention was to show a scene that points out how sometimes a Sadist needs more than a regular scene in order to feed his (or her) inner Sadist. There is a conundrum amongst some of the heavier S&M players of… if the submissive goes off into subspace then is the Sadist really hurting her? This type of scene is one of several answers to that conundrum, but in retrospect it may have been better to make it a shorter scene, or to talk about it instead of giving the blow-by-blow version of it. At any rate, I appreciate the honest feedback about how much is too much. Some people have loved that scene, some have appreciated it for showing them where they don’t want to go, and some haven’t been able to appreciate it even a teeny tiny bit. There is no right or wrong response, everyone responds to it the way that is right for them, of course. Overall it was a good review,  and I’m pleased with it. Safeword: Rainbow is reviewed by All I Want and More

Check out Cecile’s review at All I Want and More – I love the way she compares the story to white and dark chocolate: White chocolate is just that… white, light, sweet, dreamy…  The adventure Viv and Tyler will take you on… some of it will be white chocolate. To watch them learn to grow for each other. To watch them fall in love with each other. And to watch them lose themselves to each other is just like that white piece of chocolate. Dark chocolate… has some bite to it. Made to be sweet sometimes, but mostly made to be bitter than most. The world in which Viv and Tyler embark on is very dark. There is no vanilla in here. … if you know how far your limits are.. then you can read this book and not worry about it hurting you… This truly is a very good story. It goes back to my chocolate…. the white/dark working on either end… I wanted soft and sweet, the book gave me hard and pain… I hope you don’t safeword out of it… because it truly is an amazing story! Is that a great analogy or what? The BDSM is very intense – this is a love story between a Sadist and a Masochist who enjoy power exchange, after all. But it is a love story. Blackravens Reviews gives Safeword: Rainbow Five Ravens!

MacKenzie at Black Raven’s Reviews gave Safeword: Rainbow a Five Raven review! Here’s some of what she said: What a great story. I’m was impressed that the entire story was really about these two characters and not necessarily centered solely on their BDSM or sexual aspects. There was danger and intrigue that kept you guessing. Candace Blevins does a fantastic job of not taking the easy way out in a romance novel. It was immensely gratifying to watch this story play out page after page. I haven’t read a book by Candace Blevins before, but this certainly won’t be my last. Oh, my goodness. I’m walking around on Cloud Nine and my husband is rolling his eyes at me. You can read the entire review here.
